Shape and length
Every video has a shape (its aspect ratio) and a length. Pick them before you send, so Reela plans the video to fit.
Shapes you can choose
- 9:16 — vertical, full phone screen. For short-form feeds and stories.
- 16:9 — horizontal, widescreen. For a website, a presentation or a TV.
- 1:1 — square. For feeds that show posts as squares.
Lengths you can choose
From 15 seconds to 10 minutes, in 15-second steps. Longer videos use more credits.
The length is a close target, not exact: the script and the way shots are cut make the finished video a little shorter or longer. You pay for the actual length, never more than the length you chose. See How length is billed.
Set them in Auto mode
In Auto mode, the pill next to + shows the current shape and length, for example 9:16 · 30s.
- Click the pill.
- Under Aspect ratio, pick 9:16, 16:9 or 1:1.
- Drag the Length slider to the length you want.
- Click outside the menu to close it, then send your message.
Say it in Chat mode
In Chat mode there's no pill. Tell Reela the shape and length in your message, for example:
- "A 30-second vertical video for my store's page."
- "About two minutes, widescreen, for our website."
- "Square, 15 seconds."
Reela's plan shows the quality level, shape and length, for example Pro · 9:16 · 30s, so you can check them before you click Confirm and run. To change them, just say so: "Make it 45 seconds instead." See Chat and Auto mode.
Tips
- Pick the shape for where the video will be watched. A widescreen video on a phone feed shows up small, with bars above and below.
- Not sure about length? Let Reela suggest one in Chat mode, or try a short version first at a lower quality level. Long videos work just as well.
