Content, likeness and data
This page points you to the key rules in Reela's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Those pages are the full and binding versions. If anything here differs, they win.
Who can use Reela
- You must be 13 or older to use Reela.
- If you're under 18, you need permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- If Reela finds that an account was created by someone under 13, it may close the account and remove its content.
Using people's faces and voices
- You need written permission from every person who can be identified in your content to use their name or likeness.
- Reela gives you no rights to use anyone's name, image, likeness, voice or personal details, whether they're famous or not.
- Making or using a custom avatar from a real person's image is at your own risk, even with their consent.
- You must accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy before you create an avatar.
- If you upload or remix someone else's content, you're responsible for having the rights to use it. Reela will act on copyright takedown requests.
What isn't allowed
You may not use Reela, or anything it makes, to:
- Break any law.
- Infringe intellectual property, privacy or publicity rights.
- Make content that is threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, deceptive, fraudulent, obscene or offensive, or that promotes self-harm.
- Exploit or harm minors, or depict child exploitation or abuse.
- Create or spread false information meant to harm others.
- Impersonate any person or organization.
- Generate or spread personally identifiable information.
- Suggest support for a terrorist organization.
- Promote or condone violence against people based on a legally protected category.
- Train, test or improve any AI or machine learning system with Reela's outputs.
You also may not send spam or malware, collect other users' information without consent, disrupt or try to break into the service, harass other users, reverse-engineer Reela, or use it to build a competing product.
Breaking these rules can lead to your account being suspended or closed.
When Reela blocks a request
Reela checks prompts and generated content for safety. If a request is blocked, you'll see a message saying the prompt may contain content that isn't allowed. You aren't charged for a blocked video. See How credits work.
Who owns what you make
- You own your original content in the videos you make with Reela.
- Unless you're on Enterprise with its own agreement, Reela may show and promote the videos you generate on its own sites, reela.com and reela.ai.
- Other people may get the same or similar results, and AI output may not be protected by copyright.
- Depending on where you live, you may need to say that content was made with AI. Reela recommends adding a line such as "This content was generated using AI technology".
How your content and data are used
- Files you upload, such as photos and videos to remix, are used only to provide the service to you. They aren't used to train other users' models or Reela's general AI models.
- Reela may use the videos it generates for you to improve its safety, technology and service.
- Reela collects account, payment, device and usage information to run the service, support you, process payments and meet legal duties. Payments go through a third-party processor.
- Marketing emails are sent only with your consent, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Keep your own copies
Reela isn't required to store your content or videos, and may remove them. Download anything you want to keep. See Download and share.
Delete your account or data
- Delete your account — open Settings › Account and select Delete account….
- Delete your data — email support@reela.ai with the subject "Data Deletion Request". Reela deletes or anonymizes your personal data within 30 days from its active systems and within 90 days from backups, unless it must keep some of it for legal or legitimate business reasons.
Your personal data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can also ask support@reela.ai to see, correct or export your data, or to limit how it's used.
Report content
If you find content on Reela that breaks these rules or infringes your rights, email support@reela.ai with:
- Where the content is.
- What the problem is, for example copyright or harmful content.
- Your contact details, and proof that you own the rights if you're reporting infringement.
Reela reviews reports within 72 working hours and removes the content if the report is valid.
