# Remix your footage (/docs/help/remix)

There are two ways in:

- **In Create**, upload one or more videos and describe the edit. This gives you every option on this page.
- **The Video Remixer skill** takes one video and turns it into a narrated edit: Reela writes a new voice-over and cuts your footage to it.

## The Video Remixer skill

1. Open **Video Remixer** under Skills and upload one MP4 or MOV video.
2. Pick what to make: a **TikTok Short**, a **YouTube Video**, an **Ad Video**, a **Highlight Reel** or a **Trailer**.
3. Add notes or your own script if you have them, and pick the voice-over language.
4. Subtitles are off unless you turn them on.

The Remixer takes out your video's original sound and replaces it with a new voice-over and music. To keep the original voices, use Create instead.

## Upload your footage

- MP4 or MOV, up to 500 MB per file.
- In Create, add up to 30 files to one video.

## Say what to use

Reela looks through everything you upload, so you can point it at the parts you want:

- "Use only the interview parts."
- "Keep just the product demo."
- "Open with the crowd shots, end on the speech."

If you don't say, Reela edits like a pro: it opens on your strongest moment and builds to the end.

## Keep the real voices

In Create, say whose voices to keep and Reela keeps them, word for word:

- "Keep the speakers' voices" — interviews, speeches, anything people say on camera.
- "Keep only the host's voice" — Reela keeps the voices you name.

The picture doesn't have to stay on the person talking. While a voice continues, Reela can cut to other shots from your footage, the way an editor covers an interview.

## Or add a new voice-over

Ask for narration and Reela writes and voices a new script over your footage. This is also what the Video Remixer skill does.

## Choose the order

- **"Keep the original order"** — your footage plays in sequence.
- **Otherwise** Reela arranges the moments for the strongest story, for example opening on a moment from later in the footage.

## Tips

- State the goal of the edit, not just the footage: "a 30-second teaser for our launch" works better than "cut this down".
- Name the length. A short edit from long footage means leaving a lot out, so say what matters most.
- An edit made only from your own footage costs 3 credits a second, whatever quality level you pick.
- Everything in [Write a good prompt](/docs/help/prompts) applies here too.
