# FAQ (/docs/help/faq)

## Making videos

### What can I make with Reela?

Almost any kind of video: an explainer, an ad, a presenter video, an edit of your footage, a music video, an episode of a short drama, or a mix of these in one video. Describe it and Reela plans, writes and produces it, with voice, sound and music. See [Welcome to Reela](/docs/help/welcome).

### Do I need video editing experience?

No. Describe the video in plain words and Reela makes all of it. If you want to fine-tune it, you can ask for changes or use the editor, but you don't have to. See [Make your first video](/docs/help/first-video).

### How long can a video be?

Up to 10 minutes. The length you choose is a close target: the finished video can come out a little shorter or longer, and you never pay for more than you chose. For something longer, like a short drama, make a series: each episode can be up to 10 minutes. See [Shape and length](/docs/help/shape-and-length) and [Create a series](/docs/help/series).

### Can I make a short drama?

Yes. Start a series from your script or story idea. Reela can follow your script exactly, every line and every plot point, or adapt it freely. Every episode keeps the same characters, places and look, from the first episode to the last. See [Create a series](/docs/help/series).

### What's the difference between Chat mode and Auto mode?

Chat mode agrees on a plan with you first, and the video is charged only after you confirm; the chat itself costs very little. Auto mode starts producing right away. See [Chat and Auto mode](/docs/help/chat-auto).

### Can I use my own script?

Yes. Paste it and say how closely to follow it: "word for word" keeps every word, "tidy it up" makes small edits, and "keep about 60%" rewrites the rest. Choose a length that fits the script, or make it a series, where episode length follows your script. See [Write a good prompt](/docs/help/prompts).

### Can I use my own footage?

Yes. Upload it and say what you want: keep the speakers' real voices, keep the original order, or let Reela re-edit it around your strongest moments. See [Remix your footage](/docs/help/remix).

### What languages can I use?

Write your prompt in any language, and say which language the video should be in. If you don't, the video uses the language you wrote in, or the language spoken in your footage when all the speech comes from it. Reela itself is available in English, German, French, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. See [Write a good prompt](/docs/help/prompts).

### Can I change a video after it's made?

Yes. Tell Reela what to change in plain words. Each change makes a new version.

## Quality

### Which video quality should I pick?

Pro is the default and fits most videos. Use Lite or Standard to try ideas, and Max for ads and launches. Every level includes voice, sound and music. See [Video quality](/docs/help/video-quality).

## Credits and plans

### How many credits does a video cost?

Each quality level has its own per-second rate (see [reela.com/pricing](https://reela.com/pricing)). A video's total depends on its length and on which parts are generated; your own footage costs less. In Chat mode you see the amount before you confirm. See [How credits work](/docs/help/credits).

### Do I get credits back if a video fails?

You're never charged for a video that fails or is blocked: the credits held for it go back to your balance. Subscription fees aren't refundable.

### Do my credits expire?

Plan credits reset each month and don't carry over. Extra credits you buy don't expire while your account is open. See [How credits work](/docs/help/credits).

### What happens if I cancel my plan?

You keep your features until the end of the billing cycle, and you can still download videos you made on a paid plan. See [Manage your plan](/docs/help/plans).

## Agents and access

### Can my AI agent use Reela?

Yes. Send your agent the instruction in [Connect your agent](/docs/agents/connect) and it installs and signs in to the Reela CLI for you.

### Is there an API?

The Reela API is not available yet. For automation, use the [Reela CLI](/docs/cli). See [Reela API](/docs/api).

### Is there a mobile app?

There's no app to install. Reela works fully in your phone's browser.
