Hand off a video or project to your agent
You can pass a video or series you made in Reela to your own agent and keep working on it there. Your agent needs the Reela CLI installed and signed in to the same workspace as the video. See Connect your agent.
Hand off a video from Reela
- Under a finished video, click Edit in your own agent.
- Pick your agent:
- Claude, Codex and Cursor open the app with the instruction.
- Grok Bot, Muse, Dots, Antigravity, OpenClaw and Hermes copy the instruction so you can paste it.
- Copy prompt copies it for any other agent.
The instruction tells your agent the video's task ID and asks it to edit through Reela's editor, so the video stays editable in Reela afterwards.
The instructions
You can also send these yourself. For a video:
Help me edit my Reela video, task ID: <task-id>.
Run reela -V to check whether the Reela CLI is installed. If missing, read https://get.reela.com/cli/install.txt and follow the installation steps.
Run reela edit -h for editing instructions, then ask me what changes I want.
I want to use reela edit export-json to edit within Reela. Do not use export-remotion.For a series:
Help me work on my Reela series.
Run reela -V to check whether the Reela CLI is installed. If missing, read https://get.reela.com/cli/install.txt and follow the installation instructions.
Run reela show -h to learn the available series commands.
The series ID is <show-id>. Download it with reela show download <show-id> into a new, empty directory.
Once downloaded, read show.yaml and list episodes/ to understand the series, then ask the user for their next instruction.Find the right video or series
- "Find the video I made this morning." —
reela tasks list, orreela tasks list --status completed - "What's in this video?" —
reela tasks get <task-id>shows its status, progress and creation prompt. - "Show me the videos in this project." —
reela collection list --session "<title>" - "Find my series." —
reela show list. A series in Reela is a Show in the CLI. - "Which workspace are you in?" —
reela whoami
Download it
- "Send me the file." —
reela tasks download <task-id>, or add--out-dir <folder>. - "Get the branded version." —
reela tasks versions <task-id> --origin brand, thenreela tasks download <task-id> --video <video-id>
Edit it
- "Change the subtitles." or "Swap the music." — the agent exports the edit, changes it, checks it and saves it:
reela edit export-json <task-id> --file edit.json
reela edit validate edit.json
reela edit save edit.json
reela edit render edit.jsonsave returns a previewUrl you can open to review the change before render.
- "Show me earlier versions." —
reela edit versions <task-id> - "Give me the project to edit in code." —
reela edit export-remotion <task-id> --out-dir ./exports. This is a standalone project; it can't be brought back into Reela.
Apply a brand kit
- "Put our brand on it." —
reela brand list, thenreela brand apply <brand-id> --task <task-id>
Continue a series
- "Work on my series." — the agent downloads it, edits the files, then checks and submits:
reela show download <show-id> --out-dir ./my-show
cd my-show
reela show validate
reela show update --dry-run
reela show update --yes- "Get the character pictures." — from inside the series folder,
reela show subject download --all - "Use this picture for the hero." —
reela show subject replace-image <subject-id> --file hero.png
Agents have no terminal to confirm in, so they pass --yes after checking the --dry-run preview with you. Submitting show update replaces the series' editable content with the local files, and removing an episode file deletes that episode. See Projects and subjects.
Make more like it
- "Make another one in the same project." — reuse the same
--session "<title>"withreela create. See What your agent can do.
Regenerating a subject image uses credits, and running it again may charge again. See reela edit, reela show and reela brand.
