Agents and Reela

Your own AI agent can make videos with Reela for you. It runs the Reela CLI on a computer, so you can ask for a video in your agent's chat instead of opening Reela.

What an agent can do

Once the CLI is installed and signed in, your agent can:

  • Create videos — turn your request into a prompt, preview the credits with reela create ... --dry-run, then submit.
  • Check tasks — see what's in progress, finished or failed with reela tasks list and reela tasks get <id>.
  • Download — save a finished video with reela tasks download <id>.
  • Apply brand kits — list your existing brand kits with reela brand list and apply one to a finished video with reela brand apply <brand-id> --task <task-id>.
  • Use avatars — find a presenter with reela avatar list and include it with --visual avatar --avatar <id>.

See What your agent can do for the full request-to-command list.

Who it's for

Any agent that can run commands on a computer can use Reela:

  • Personal agents, such as Muse and Dots, that work for you on their own cloud computer.
  • Coding agents, such as Claude Code, Codex and Cursor, that run on your machine or in your terminal.

A text-only chat that can't run commands can't use the CLI.

How it's paid for

Videos your agent makes use the credits on your Reela account, the same as videos you make in the app, and they show up with the rest of your videos.

Your agent can check the cost before anything is charged: --dry-run estimates credits without creating a task. See Credits.
